I’m learning how to live life like a Disney Princess.
You may be thinking, “How cheesy is that?” Most of my life, I would have agreed with you. Well, about 85% of me would have. There was a small 15% that knew I was created to be a bubble of sunshine, to live life with all the whimsy and light that a Disney Princess does. Of course, head knowledge is a lot different than living it out, especially since this tendency to be cynical and hard seems to be engraved in humans since childhood. I’m learning my identity, day by day.
As I said, it’s been a very slow process. I started out as a recovering tom-boy learning to embrace the fact that I am a lady. And that it’s a GOOD THING. Now, I embrace femininity. The current growing process is learning that my secret dreams to live life like Anne Shirley and the Disney Princesses is how I was created to be. My Daddy made me this way, and He likes me this way. He likes whimsy and La Vie En Rose. I’m embracing that I see life through the glasses of a fairy tale. Living like a Disney Princess is like living out Ephesians 5:18-20 “Be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
I’m choosing to look at life through rose-colored glasses. I’m choosing to celebrate the presence of my Daddy in my life, every day. It’s BEAUTIFUL.
